Yo Yo Girl Cop.

Gary sent me this clip about this new(?) Japanese movie that's coming out: Yo Yo Girl Cop. At first I thought it had something to do with the Tokyo hip-hop scene, but it's way cooler than that:

I may be primed to like this, since I recognize the weapon as something used in my favorite kid cartoon of all time, G-Force:

If you haven't heard of G-Force, you might want to read up on it. For starters, the original name of the series was Science Ninja Team Gatchaman. For another thing, they dressed like this when not fighting crime:

X3.

Hey, I don't have a Ph.D. in mutant proteomics or anything, but if the Cure involves a substance produced by the kid whose mere presence reverses the mutation in the X-chromosome, then if you shot him with the Cure, wouldn't he cure himself? Huh? Hunh?! I mean, wouldn't he cure himself, and therefore be incapable of existing? WHO'S THE HEAD VAMPIRE?!!one

Casting.

I never thought of it before, but it's so clear to me now. In the live action movie version of Archie, the role of Jughead should be played by John Cusack.

Popping in the Rain.

Still capture from commercial.

By now you've probably seen the GTI commercial featuring a digitally-remixed Gene Kelly poppin', lockin', and generally body-rockin'. I for one can't stop watching/listening to it. For me, it's this weird combination of sentimentality on several levels, plus technology-enabled irony, that I find irresistible.

Anyway, here's how it was made, and who did the dancing.
